  Located on the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand, 171 kms south of Greymouth and in the heart of the Westland National Park, Fox Glacier is a small town (pop 282) located near the world famous Fox Glacier and the most photographed lake in New Zealand - Lake Matheson.Besides the Glacier and Lake Matheson, Fox Glacier is also known for the various glow worm caves that surround the area. Fox Glacier is near the beginning to the Copeland Track. Travel to and from the Track from the west coast end, is by InterCity Coachlines. Fox Glacier is served by daily coach services to and from Greymouth (Connecting with the TranzAlpine train to & from Christhcurch), Franz Josef, Wanaka and Queenstown.
